Once again working alongside MA Ponting, we were asked to carry out the glazing aspect of this agricultural project to turn an existing stone Threshing Barn, Cowshed & Steel frame Dutch Barn into a welcoming space for small Companies & startups to utilise.
Being an agricultural setting the style & design needed to be sensitive to the surroundings. ALUCO Aluminium 'Steel Look' windows and doors were chosen to create the required appearance. We also used SunflexUK Tilt & Turn for the Dutch Barn to allow for larger split openings.
Working closely with Mark & Jenny Ponting as well as Architect Fred Bayliss, we were able to deliver a stunning finish as shown below in the photos which suits the surroundings perfectly.
Below are a selection of images of this agricultural scheme we were involved with.
Site visit - Construction - Completion
Calmsden Workspace
The Cowshed
As the photos show, this was literaly a cowshed prior to work commencing.
The remit was to create six separate small business units in a sympathetic agricutural style using the ALUCO Steel Look aluminium system.
Threshing Barn
Once again the remit was to in-fill the large doorways of the thresher using the ALUCO Steel Look system.
Dutch Barn
Slightly more unusual, this building was to be used as a space for various uses, from Pilates to art displays, with the potential of a coffee shop. The planners had been quite strict on the appearance of this & how the glazing would work, so this took some time to design & agree the fenestration. We ended up using a mixture of ALUCO Steel Look & Contemproary Tilt & Turn from the SunflexUK system.
